Apr. 27th, 2009 12:47 amWent down to Barnes & Noble today on a hunt for Tomb of the Cybermen, but alas, I didn't find it there either.
However! I went & inquired about their ordering procedures & the very nice girl who helped me explained that I could order it then, it would arrive the following week, they'd call me to let me know & I could just pick it up & pay for it then. When I went to Borders, they wouldn't let me pay in cash upfront, I had to pay with a credit card right then. I still need to get my bank account sorted out (o, sigh, Saffron, when will you be better about your finances?), so that was out. But I placed the order for it at Barnes & Noble today & let's just hope it'll be in my hands by next week, eh? When it gets here, I think I'll have everything that's been reconned, or that survived from the Troughton era, plus a little from the Hartnell era. Then, the great rewatch-athon shall begin!
Interestingly enough, it'll start with the William Hartnell era for the first three serials, I think. The idea is to do three serials a weekend, recons & what I have on DVD, which is a good amount. Of course, when I get to the DVDs, I get to listen to all the commentaries & watch all the extras, so that could take a bit. But it'll be tons of fun!
I may even do a relisten to all three of the Two-era Companion Chronicles after I watch everything - The Great Space Elevator (which I believe we'll be doing a community listen to over at
oh_fiddle soon), Helicon Prime (which I'm actually listening to now & quite enjoying, despite the plot holes) & Fear of the Daleks. Also, I remember poking around the TARDIS wiki & noted that apparently Polly has a story of her own coming out at some point. Must look further into that.
(& do you know I have The Dalek Invasion of Earth on DVD & I still haven't seen it? I feel like I should try & locate The Aztecs first, then move on to Susan's last serial. But I'd like to see it. Hmm.)
Beyond my mad fannishness, nothing too new's been happening lately. I do, however, have a new layout, userinfo & I redid my icons a bit. I've also got a shiny new Two-era moodtheme by
balcairn, which I love. Pretty pretty Two & all of his pretty era.
(I ♥ monochrome. Is pretty!)
I also bought more tea today. That makes . . . five kinds or so - no, wait, this one's a sampler tin set, so maybe . . . ten types?
& the sad thing? I'd still think about buying more if I saw some I liked. Right now I'm having a white tea called Ambrosia Plum. It's nice, not too remarkable, but it's a fine tea before bed! It's also in a sachet, as opposed to being loose, like I usually have it.
I looked at kettles & teapots today, but I didn't find any that I could just fill & boil on the stove like my broken one, & plus, I didn't have enough money to buy one anyway. But a new kettle needs to be procured sooner rather than later, I think.
Some people are addicted to coffee. I shouldn't be roused in the morning without a cup of tea if you expect me to bounce up & sing to you. [/tea addict]
Goodness, I'm dull when I'm sleepy, aren't I?
(but I ♥ this damn icon.)
