& because LJ decided I needed to cut my comment in half . . . sigh!

No mortal wound, no. It's a bit vague how the do it, but it looks as if they just force the Doctor's regeneration with the power of their brains.

. . . Time Lords can kill (or regenerate!) you with their brains. ::gigglesnorts:: But still, even if there's no injury, it won't be something I'm looking forward to. :/ (I'm half-looking forward to The War Games & half-dreading it - looking forward to it because afterward, I can see Two interacting with his past & future selves & dreading it for, well . . . obvious reasons.)

I don't think it was on purpose - more like they're not as all-powerful and infallible as they seem at first (which makes sense when we later see the flawed Time Lords from Four's era onwards) and ended up screwing something up. I also believe they were not as successful with the mind blocks they inflicted on Jamie and Zoe, but that is slighly bases on wishful thinking rather than facts, I'm afraid

I think that makes a sound bit of sense - it might make more after I see a little more of Four's era & maybe The Key to Time series, possibly. But your feelings on the memory wiping they did to Jamie & Zoe make sense as well - if the Time Lords would have even the possible chance of screwing up the Doctor's physiology by forcing regeneration on him, it's highly likely that their mind blocks would have a good-sized margin of error to them. Or those are my feelings on it to date.

(& also, it reminds me of a beautiful Jamie/Four - I THINK it was Jamie/Four, I'm not totally sure- story I read once, where the mind block on Jamie only half-worked. I might have linked it to you, but I can't remember - it's The Persistence of Memory by Aquarius)
