I ♥ the story of your Two love - what a lovely journey, it seems. :D

Though I love all of the Doctor, save Ten, as you know, I would have to say my main & most adored Doctors would be Eight, Two, Three & Four, with One, Seven & Nine behind them & Six & Five coming in last, since I have yet to MEET Six in serial form (but I've got friends who love him, so I'm totally going to give him a chance!) & Five, who I think is sweet, but a bit bland for my liking. (I love Audio!Six & Peri though; & I think Audio!Peri's supercute! & I'm not overly annoyed by her accent - I've heard worse in other audios & in the new series! :P) As for companions . . . well, that's a bit long & might break this comment too, but Jamie, Charley, Susan, Sarah Jane, Ben, Polly, Romana & VIctoria are all among them!

(& I realised recently that I think, save for Peri, Mel, Sara Kingdom, Katarina & Romana I, that I've met almost all the Doctor's companions in at least one serial. & yes, I still count Dodo, even if it was her horrible departure story!) & that's almost thirty plus companions! Not too bad, I think.

There's something in both The Deadly Assassin and Trial of a Time Lord that bugs me particularly about the way Time Lords treat the Master - in both occasions, the Doctor is seen as a renegade who deserves nothing but contempt and punishment for his interference (never mind the fact that he had already received his pardon), and when the Master steps in halfway through the story they clearly have no idea who he is in spite of all the damage he has caused throughout the universe. In Trial the Master seems to be rolling his eyes at this, a sentiment I share. And in Terror of the Autons, the Time Lords learn that the Master is heading to Earth to destroy the Doctor, and what do they do? They warn the Doctor. *rolls eyes* Since they know the time and place in which the Master is to land, why don't they capture the bugger and put him on trial, like they did to the Doctor when they finally located him in The War Games? Time Lord mentality makes no sense

::boggles:: I - just - WHAT CONTROLS THE TIME LORDS & THEIR THOUGHT PROCESS?! I mean, have they ever punished the Master? (not counting what Eight says in the TVM; I've read one fic that explains actions pre-TVM & how he got to be during it & I'm completely adopting that into my personal canon) The Doctor gets a forced regeneration, exile, a trashed TARDIS, a kangaroo court (as Six puts it in The Eight Doctors) & nothing but contempt & distrust from his own kind, even though he's saved the universe more times than they've probably gone into their own TARDISes? HOW does that make any sense in ANY thinking creature's line of reasoning? I'm glad Susan went with her grandfather - she learnt much more & much better with him than she ever could have on Gallifrey, I say!

(& ranting is good! I've never had a chance to rant & be snippy about the Time Lords with anyone else - mostly because I don't know many people have seen as much Classic!Who as you have! :D)

& as for Romana & how I think she would have handled the Master, I think she would have been very harsh with him; putting him on trial, then imprisoning him, if she didn't outright choose memory wiping for or death for him. (in the Master's case, memory wiping or a mind block wouldn't be SO wrong - he's insane & very dangerous - he would warrant that, I think; unlike Jamie & Zoe, who were complete innocents.) I don't see Romana as the President who would be so easy with the Master - or as contemptuous of the Doctor, especially since she travelled with him & knows what he's really like. But I'm thinking of Romana II, & not Romana III, of course.
