I ♥ the story of your Two love - what a lovely journey, it seems. :D
I'll have to add that, before that, I got curious about the Doctors that preceded Five and ordered some VHS tapes of them (this was around 2000 or 2001, before I got a DVD player), and Pat's tape was a tribute featuring three orphaned episodes now available in the Lost in Time set and presented by Jon Pertwee, who said some very sweet things about Pat - and mentioned a recurring joke the two of them made at conventions involving water guns, and which Rich Morris used for a small visual joke in the Ten Doctos webcomic. That tape was what made me fall for Jamie (more specifically, the moment during The Abominable Snowmen where he announces he has an idea), but the falling for Pat would only come later with The Two Doctors.

& Five, who I think is sweet, but a bit bland for my liking.
When you can, I recommend you watch Five's final story, The Caves of Androzani - Five is truly badass in that one, no blandess in sight. :P Plus, that was the first regeneration I've watched (apart from that small clip of the One-to-Two regeneration from The Tenth Planet, which was in the Pat tape I mention above), and to this day it remains my very favourite. It's chilly and I love it. I also love the fact that Five's final word is "Adric?" after the boy's face shows up.
But let's not give it away too much before you actually watch it. If your dialup allows it, you can watch the Five-to-Six regeneration here.

::boggles:: I - just - WHAT CONTROLS THE TIME LORDS & THEIR THOUGHT PROCESS?! I mean, have they ever punished the Master?
I think they spoil the Master rotten - he's like a spoiled brat at times, who grew up having all his naughtiness forgiven and all his whims satisfied.

I don't see Romana as the President who would be so easy with the Master - or as contemptuous of the Doctor, especially since she travelled with him & knows what he's really like. But I'm thinking of Romana II, & not Romana III, of course.
Of course. I can easily see Romana III giving full pardon to the Master as long as he's able to provide her with something she wants.
