::hugs you:: Time Lord sorts of things are . . . very confusing, aren't they? & because my own brain is so sluggy & sleepy to add anything more coherent, I'll merely say that your take DOES rather help organise everything a bit better. I THINK I can understand that - or I will, after some sleep anyway! :D

I don't have much trouble writing Jamie. I'm often very unsure about how he talks

O, that's what makes UP my biggest fears & worries of writing Jamie! In my main draft of the Eight/Jamie & Two & Charley fic, he has no accent at all. (meeep! Accents! ::hides:: The IDEA of writing one scares me.) But I think I'll not worry so much about it for the drafting; only at (& if I ever GET there) the editing/beta-reading stage will I delve into the recesses of accent panic.

(hee, that's another problem I have in writing ANYONE - I'm the very first person to puncture fork-sized holes or TARDIS-sized holes in any work I do - most often the latter!)
