Yes, Coupling was 100% pute Moffatt, as he not only created that show, but also wrote all episodes. It shows just what a great scriptwriter and storyteller he can be, as he broke all conventions with the way he wrote it. For instance, in more than one episode we see the same scene repeated two or three times, as the scene "rewinds" and we see it from the POV of a completely different character, helping explain something that happened in the previous POV. Then, there was an episode which started with the main couple breaking up, and we see the whole thing with the screen split in the middle - on the left from his POV, and on the right from hers. Or the episode when a phone call between two characters becomes a six-way conversation thanks to the other four joining in on extension phones.
And, of course, there's the fact that, in every season, there's at least one reference to Doctor Who. In the fourth and final season, where a new character who is a sci-fi fanatic is introduced, this rule changes to a reference every other episode, culminating in his attempt to rehearse a heated conversation with his ex by using a life-sized Dalek model in her place.

Four letters. Z.O.M.G. DUDE, THAT SOUNDS AWESOME! & any show with Doctor Who references = WIN! :D

I don't think she's that troubled about gender. Again, check Tomb, but I don't think she minds whether the person is male or female - if they're annoying her, she'll speak her mind and probably even smack them silly.

I shall be doing - VERY SOON, actually, because my next serial is Evil of the Daleks!! ::does the Donna dance:: (I got all teary-eyed when Ben & Polly left Jamie & Two, I won't lie. It was a great serial, even though the recon was indeed, a disappointment.) But I'LL BE DOING THAT SOON! ::squeals happily::

it's not just you - but then again, I've been longing for sixties fashions even before I discovered Who. I blame The Avengers and The Saint. And Monty Python.

YAY! ::feels in good company:: For me, it's been SINCE I discovered sixties-era Who, but ah, what does it matter - it's a lovely era, fashion & makeup-wise!
Which reminds me - I remember asking the barbarian countless times before what life during the sixties was like for her, since she was in high school then, but honestly, she was SO.BORING. during one of the coolest decades of history. But she wore false eyelashes like I do now (though she says they're made better now), sometimes go-go boots & she used to watch The Avengers too, but never any Who - she doesn't like sci-fi, depressingly. :O My folks are v. dull, alas.

& I SAW Jamie in the closet tonight! ::gigglesnorts:: It was a GREAT moment. & him being squashed into a photobooth with Ben & Two! SO CUTE. ^___^
