Nov. 4th, 2008 09:33 pmJust . . . I had so much to say tonight, but really, what is there left to say?
YES WE CAN. & YES WE DID.
I cried tonight, folks, out of sheer fucking happiness. AT LEAST TWICE.
I'm actually proud of this country for the first time in eight years. WE ARE DOING IT RIGHT.

Date: 2008-11-05 07:09 am (UTC)This whole day has just been freaking LEGENDARY, in every sense of the word. This morning, after I voted, I walked down the practically empty streets & I felt like I was literally walking on clouds - I was just so exhilarated & thrilled to have been able to DO something that actually has an impact on this century's history.
Just . . . o, Jess. I wish we could bottle this day for everyone else to see, thousands of years in the future when they need a little hope in their own time.
We are indomitable. Indomitable.

Date: 2008-11-05 12:22 pm (UTC)I cried when the first customer came in and said "We have a new president!" I mean, we would have had a new president anyway, but IT'S THE RIGHT ONE.
I cried when my friends showed up to squee and hug.
I cried more when they brought in the newspapers at 5am. I squee'd and teared a bit everytime someone came in, bought three and said "One to read, one to keep, and one to give my kids."
It's a wonderful day to be an American.

Date: 2008-11-06 03:51 pm (UTC)I was not as happy as most people. I didn't vote for him and I'm unsure about what is going to happen now.
But the election is over, the people have had their say, so we just have to see how things will unfold. Tomorrow is a new day.
Sorry if I've rained on anyone's parade by not being overly cheery
*looks around, scared*
