Yay, recons recaps! (ugh, I can't write) And so many mentions of yours truly. :P *is flattered*

Well, here are my two cents:

The interaction between Ian & One is great during their scenes in the warehouse. They've become fairly equal, I would say. One is no longer as condescending to Ian as he was originally, & actually listens to him as well. Far different from their first interactions.
And also Ian treats the Doctor with more admiration and respect than he did at the beginning, when his reaction to him was (understandably) quite hostile.

Hmm. I was a bit underwhelmed by the Dalek coming out of the water, for some reason.
I have the feeling it's one of those things that worked better back when it first aired, and people only knew him from their first serial, where they were confined to their citadel and their mobility was limited to metallic surfaces. Anyone with knowledge of that would react just like One and Ian.

On the first viewing, I didn't like Jenny very much. Afterwards, I grew to like her more, especially in her scenes with Barbara later on.
I'm surprised how well-developed Jenny turned out, considering that she's a replacement character added in rewrites. Originally, her lines belonged to Dortmun's 12-year-old daughter Saida, who was to replace Susan aboard the TARDIS at the end of this serial, but when the powers that be decided Saida was perhaps a bit too young for their needs they created Vicki instead and wrote a 2-parter serial (The Rescue) to introduce her, and replaced Saida with Jenny.

Barbara Wright driving a bus, with Daleks all around her, then SMASHING RIGHT THROUGH A WHOLE LINE OF THEM.
She actually CRUSHED ONE OF THEM under a wheel! Now here's a scene to rub on the faces of all those who think '60s female companions are screamers who need to be rescued all the time.

also WTFPANDA? OMG, PANDA? IRIS WILDTHYME'S PANDA, IS THAT YOU?
*laughs* No, that's Hi-Fi, Steven's mascot. You know how all pilots, from racers to air force pilots, have mascots as good luck charms? Well, since Steven was a space pilot, he had Hi-Fi. :)
(incidentally, Hi-Fi will make a guest cameo in my fics at some point)
Interestingly, I've read three EDAs featuring Iris, but there's no panda in them. She has an orange talking poodle at some point (and Fitz drooling all over her) but no panda. Must be an audio thing. :P

One calls him a 'time meddler' - but he's still a Time Lord, yes? Just more on the Master-Rani side of the spectrum than on the Doctor-Iris Wildthyme side.
He is a Time Lord, yes, but since he's also an insufferable meddler... But he's not evil per se, though he was clearly willing to kill to achieve his goals (even if his plan was to achieve peace) and in his return to the show he allied himself with some truly evil creatures.
