o my god.

browncoats + serenity = LOVELOVELOVE.

i just got back from the theatre, so here's a short recap of stuffs!

my mother insisted on being a TOTAL pill & not going to the pre-party with me, all because she didn't like where it was being held. so, i left her outside & went in myself - as i've stated, i want to have my own fun & not worry about her. so i went in.

& hee, inside was super-friendly & nice! i met lots of nice people, mostly, i think, because i was so shy & fearful-ish of things, as this WAS my first met&greet with fellow browncoats! it was really nice though - we played games & i displayed my far too extensive knowledge of all things firefly/serenity & got lots & lots of candy for it! at a little to seven-ish, we all started heading down to the theatre, which brings me to my next half of the tale . . .

which is getting to the theatre! i met mummy (fairly sober, i believe) & we went down to the theatre to wait in line for seating. i saw a few people i'd met at the pre-party there, so i stood in line & talked to them loads!

& guess what?

i saw a girl in a river outfit!

& she was accompanied by a simon, & a kaylee, which made me a whole manner of squeeful!

& plus, a big group of people in front of us broke into song! they sang the ballad of serenity & the hero of canton, plus a few songs from the buffy musical, one of which i DID recognise, so yay me!

then the line started moving, & we got happily seated in the theatre - so much yay, because we did MORE singing, & talking & i saw a mal&inara couple! ::envies::

the only sucky thing was that there was this AWFUL noise that kept happening before the film - AWFUL! it was like feedback & nails on a chalkboard - & it was REALLY loud, too!

then, we had the prize drawing, which, alas, i won nothing from, but both girls i was sitting with did!

& my favourite part, though i didn't participate in it at all, was the auction for the Visit Tranquil Miranda poster, which was an artist's proof, & one of three copies of it. The bidding was intense, folks, & the total finally came out to TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. Two hundred! It was awesome to watch the bidding go that high.

& then . . .

OMG. It was . . . wow. Just seeing it a) on a huge screen & b) seeing it with other browncoats was . . . damn, it was AMAZING.

& shockingly, i didn't cry! i got a little misty-eyed when simon got shot & was out&out CLINGING to my companion next to me (twas one of the girls i met at the pre-party & she totally didn't mind!), but no tears, which is interesting.

but like i said, seeing it, when surrounded by a huge number of browncoats was AMAZING. we screamed, we cheered, we clapped, we laughed - it was really different than a regular film!

i loved how responsive we all were at certain parts - my companion & i really did scream & cling to each other when wash got hit by the reaver harpoon - i couldn't help it, dong ma? & we went WILD when river went into full on reaver slayer mode! we screamed & whooped & whistled & clapped like CRAZY - & YES, you can bet i did! i even said, 'go river go!'

& it was AWESOME how my companion & i kept saying lines right along with everyone throughout the whole thing - i said so many river&simon&mal lines that they're just etched into my brain now. E-T-C-H-E-D, folks!

(er, not that they weren't before, i mean. ::giggles::)

man, i can't even BEGIN to explain how happy & floaty i feel right now - i honestly feel so light with my happiness & delight at having been able to go that i'm like . . . like a little piece of gossamer floating on the wind - that light & fluttery from my glee.

it was so so amazing.

beyond amazing.

mind-blowing, for me.

& o yes yes YES i'm still, if not more, in crazy♥♥♥ with mal&simon.

not quite in the slashy way, at least not right now, but o, o, O!

in simple words?

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ to malcolm reynolds. mal, quite simply, is my hero.

& ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ & stars to miss river tam - that girl is my heroine!

& because he is a darling & completely a knight in shining armor, ★ ★ ★ ★ & ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ to simon tam! kisses & hearts & stars to simon, because he made me weep & because he loves his sister so very much.

eeep. i am SO happy, i could literally jump up & start dancing. i am THAT uplifted still. i just want to jump up & twirl&dance&sing out my happiness for all the world to see. i just want to dance!

Sounds like you had a really amazing time! I went to the showing in Seattle and it was definitely a different experience then when I saw it out in theaters originally. Much more fun seeing it with browncoats. :)
