riverdressesSqueal! I went to my first meet-up with the San Francisco Browncoats today! I had SO MUCH FUN! Yes, I was still my shy little bunnygirl self & didn't talk much for the first hour or so, but then I started talking more & lots of really cool people talked to me & one of them even recognized me from the Can't Stop The Serenity screening! ::squees::
So yeah, pretty much the best three to four hours of my summer, so far. We talked about EVERYTHING - comics, politics (though I didn't talk so much then - I listened because I know nothing about politics), TONS of cons, Harry Potter, how much canon nazis fucking suck (& YAY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE DRIVEN CRAZY BY HARRY POTTER CANON NAZIS!) Battlestar Galactica/Doctor Who/Torchwood/a little Stargate Atlantis, which yours truly mentioned, cinema, X-Men, & of course, lots of Firefly/Buffy/Browncoat related awesomeness!
O, man, GREAT TIME. I can't wait til next month! ::bounces:: & I may get to meet up with some of those awesome folks in El Cerrito at the Firefly night on Thursday, if I can get Mother to come with me & not think we'll get killed by chainsaw-wielding maniacs.
::squeals:: Seriously guys, call me a loser or whatever you want, but I DON'T CARE. HANGING OUT WITH BROWNCOATS IS AWESOME. ::does some sort of freaky happy!dance::

Okay, before I start fandom rambles, I'm going to plug the Simon Tam kissing meme! (YES I NEED TO PARTICIPATE)
& also, I keep forgetting to do this, but I wanted to let the flist know that I DO have AIM reinstalled on River again - I'm riverdresses if you want to add me!
Okay then! So, I'm working steadily on my Mal/Simon mixtapethingish, & I actually have a fair number of songs to put in it! The only trouble is giving it a TITLE. ::pulls at her overlong bangs:: I mean, seriously, there is NO idea for a title & that is bugging me all to hell! I should have a title so I can make the list in my iTunes, but aaaaah, I do not.

wildannuette has in her userinfo, & I may do that for now, since it DOES appeal to me. I also thought of The Darker Days of Me & Him, after the PJ Harvey song, My Medicine after a song from the movie version of Nana, & lost_little_nat suggested Wicked Game two nights ago on MSN. All workable with these two, yes! But I STILL don't know!
& no, I WON'T poll you guys this time around, since I think you'll all kill me if I DO, but I AM going to share some Mal/Simon over at my community, so I'll poll everyone there. But feel free to say something in a comment, or whatnot.
But off the topic of Mal/Simon mixes, I AM planning a Kaylee mix! I even have the title - Miss Spring - & I just need to decide how long it's going to be & start collecting songs!
& ouch, I burned my damn thumb on my lighter while lighting incense. Ouch, it hurts. ::pouts::
Okay, going to stop being lazy & share the Mal/Simon & think up stuff for other fics & mixes.
& I want to say that I've fallen in utter aural love with my copy of the Firefly soundtrack thatalli_everyday sent me - I listened to some of it last night & it is just SO beautiful. I'll upload some of my favourites for you all in a few days!
