::waves:: Hey everyone.

As most of you (at least all of the awesome people I met there!) know that I'm camping out at [livejournal.com profile] news in protest of the SECOND attack on fandom that LiveJournal/Six Apart his us with in just a few months. And some of you may not know about it yet, so, in order to remedy that and help bring MORE people to show LiveJournal that we are EXTREMELY dissatisfied customers, here are some links that will help explain why you should join us.

- Both [livejournal.com profile] likespring & [livejournal.com profile] soleta_nf have compiled lists of links in LJ entries of theirs here & here & they'll contain most everything you need to get caught up.

- [livejournal.com profile] bubble_blunder is hosting an open letter to LiveJournal & Six Apart, which I feel that everyone should go at least LOOK at, especially the paid members of my flist.

- I asked in the threads at [livejournal.com profile] news how I should word this post & [livejournal.com profile] likespring & [livejournal.com profile] devilindupriest were kind enough to help me out & [livejournal.com profile] likespring has allowed me to quote her comment to me.

". . . LJ was pressured by a radical conservative (homophobic, racist, etc) group to shut down a bunch of journals, LJ suspended over 500 journals based on interests with no warning, and a lot of them were fan journals, journals of people who survived rape/incest/dv/etc, and a couple literary communities like a Spanish community for the book Lolita.

LJ took a lot of time responded, took forever to unsuspend the journals, we spammed posts while waiting back then, etc. . . .

. . . they lied to us by saying they did it so they wouldn't get in legal trouble, which isn't true, and then they later admitted it wasn't illegal and they just don't want that kind of stuff in their community.

. . . LJ has suspended more journals (. . . they changed the format from a strikethrough to bold, and it doesn't show up in userinfos unless it's your own, so it's hard to notice who's been suspended). LJ admitted that the journals suspended did not contain any kind of child pornography but they just didn't see any "artistic merit" in the art."

Please, folks. YOU DON'T HAVE TO COME TO [livejournal.com profile] news & SPAM, BUT PLEASE, LET OTHERS WHO MAY NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING KNOW ABOUT THIS.

& lastly, my reason for getting involved, for those who may want to know.

- I have been a paying member of LiveJournal for two years. I have BEEN here five years, back when you still needed a code to create a journal. I have NEVER seen such appalling treatment on LJ's part toward it's users up until Strikethrough '07 & now this. This is POOR customer service, to put it lightly, & it is also being poorly handled. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE PORN REMOVALS. For me, it is about having a CLEAR knowledge about what IS & what ISN'T allowed here so I can either keep posting fannish works or take my things & post them elsewhere. Also, as a paid user, I feel that the concerns of those PAYING for this service deserve an explanation at the very least so that we can let others know what is going on.

Also - we HAVE tried to be reasonable with LJ/Six Apart - we've sent letters, called them, & left politely worded comments during Strikethrough & now, amidst the spam. AND WE STILL have NO ANSWER. This is AWFUL customer service.

For my flist - link to this post if you want, you don't need to ask me. Also, see [livejournal.com profile] fandom_attacks for organizing our protests & viewing our next set of options.

Lastly -
JOIN [livejournal.com profile] fandom_counts IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO.

[livejournal.com profile] nobelia posted this in [livejournal.com profile] lj_biz & has asked ALL OF US to share it & get the word out about it. I'm adding it to del.icio.us & for those of you that also have one, I would suggest the same.

Please, people. GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THIS.

*clings* Dear lord, HELP.

They're onto something REALLY REALLY COOL (the 24 hour silent treatment to 6A/LJ) - I'm just not getting why it's so hard to say that we need a time to START, so the non-spammers can participate. *REALLY LARGE SADFACE*

*clingy clings*

::snuggles::

TELL THEM THEY NEED TO PICK A UNIFYING TIME! If not, it won't work as well as we want it to.

& I agree, it IS a good idea. :D

This post was useful; I've been gone for awhile and I had no idea what was going on. But now I do, I think it is BULLSHIT. Talk about censorship. Especially if they're banning communities based upon books [Lolita is such a good book; a classic!].

I can't believe LJ. Wtf, didn't this just happen? ARGH.

I'm glad it helped you to catch up! ::beams:: & I've missed you, by the by!

Seriously. LJ is, to quote Draco Malfoy, going to the dogs. WHAT THE HELL, LJ, IS IT SO HARD TO TALK TO YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS?

(& I ♥ ♥ Lolita! One of my favourite books!)

While I don't think spamming is the correct way to go about it, I completely understand! But then again sensible comments haven't worked either. And now that they've finally replied... well, I'm NOT impressed. Stupid LJ.

LJ has gone so far downhill that I'll be surprised of it just doesn't eventually fizzle out. ::hits it::

O, dear, will I be banned for THAT?!

Yeah, I agree. I mean I've been on LJ for over four years now and these past few months have been horrible. There has never been this much trouble before. Unfortunately I think a lot of that has to do with 6A. *sigh* I just want the old LJ back. Please?

*wibbles* I'm glad I met people like you at the news comm, because all my regular LJ friends are completely ignoring this. They say it's not a big deal, not worth getting angry over, it's LJ's business what they delete, they don't care, etc. etc. etc. and I'm just like "...say WHAT?!"

At least my other rabble-rouser friend is returning from Phoenix today. You'd like her: what little she's heard about the whole LJ mess these past few days has had her hissing fits. Ah, if only my other f-list regulars were as supportive of the cause.

I'm sticking around LJ for commenting and viewing purposes. If LJ cleans up their act, I'll officially move back, but if they don't I'm going to try and leave LJ as much as I possibly can. I'm at GJ already, same username--if you have a GJ account, please friend me over there too ^^

::clings:: Regarding your friends . . . THE HELL? ::blinky::

& squee! I do think the spammage party is still going on somewhat, so have her drop by & maybe inject some life into what's left of the fire? ::hopeful smile::

& I DID add you at GJ - add me back, girl! ::tickles:: & YAY COMMENTS FROM YOU! ::danceydancedance::

::kisses:: I'm almost considering moving to GJ, if it IS true that I can just post to LJ AND GJ from Semagic . . . not too sure yet though. ::ponders::
