Today was the day where all the little sproglets in my city were packed off for their first day of school here in San Francisco. It was pretty funny to see all of the school kids in my neighborhood squealing & yelling at each other, like they hadn't seen each other in forever. It almost made me miss my own school days a little, but then I remembered that there was really nothing to miss.
No, really, there isn't.
But I have better news than that - I finally got my hands on season one of Stargate SG-1! ::flails happily:: I finished it last night & OMG. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I got it on Saturday & pretty much marathoned the whole thing through very early this morning and I am in love with it! I'm flailing with fangirl worship/idolatry of Sam Carter who is simply one of the awesomest female characters I've seen since I became acquainted with the girls of Firefly! She's amazing, not to mention brilliant, beautiful, & deadly! Yes, I love Sam.
Of course, Sam's not the only member of SG-1 that I'm flailing over . . . granted, I'm actually flailing over all of them because everyone on that show is so kickass, but the second object of my fangirling is the dreamy thing they call Daniel Jackson - I kind of love him like BURNING, you know! & it's so . . . o, well, I'm crazygirly already so i'll just say it - I kind of started fangirling/flailing over him like, ten seconds after he first appeared in Children of the Gods. (yes, I'm easy like that, DON'T JUDGE ME!) I think I loved him the most in both None But For the Grace of God & Politics, I definitely do.
::swoons:: O, Daniel. He's such a darling! I am so making a fanmix for him - I may not even wait to see seasons two & three before I do - I really want to mix for him!
(& Jack/Daniel is already making me grin in a cheeky, girlish way. ::coughs::)
I'm hoping to get seasons two & three this week, but after that, I'm not buying any more DVDs until season three of SGA comes out - I want to have enough money for the next day shipping & I don't want to be off & running into another fandom before I've seen all of SGA - SGA came before my SG-1 fangirling, so it gets top priority! I'm okay with that, it just means I'll be waiting a little longer to see Rodney in SG-1 but that's okay with me! Besides, I have McKay and Mrs. Miller AND The Tao of Rodney to see, so I'll be just fine during the waiting period! Mmmm, Rodney McKay goodness. ::squees::

I miss Supernatural. Like, a LOT. I've been a shitty Supernatural fangirl since Firefly & SGA came along & I REALLY want to get back into it - it WAS the fandom that brought me to most of my awesome friends & here I am, passing it by in favour of space cowboys & awesome girls. ::bad girl:: But it's okay - season two is coming out on DVD soon & eeeeeeeeee, I am SO excited to get it! I'm missing the Sammy sexy!
Which brings me to an interesting thing I noticed while missing Supernatural & swooning over Daniel Jackson this weekend - Am I crazy, or does Daniel with his floppy (& sexy!) hair look a LOT like Sam in season one? & also, am I the only Supernatural/Stargate SG-1 fangirl to think that Sam & Daniel are actually really alike? The whole time I was watching SG-1, I kept thinking that. Anyone else on my flist notice this?

& YES!
it was really funny actually; john & some others go this planet where they meet the town leader - he's like a medicine man who everyone loves (he even has like, seven wives!)
they bring him back to atlantis (which is very unpopular, since it's supposed to be a see-krit!) & it turns out the reason people are so charmed by this guy is that he "hypnotizes" them to think so!
i really really enjoyed it, and if i understood right, they might start showing it every friday!
