Opinion of Serenity? I liked it, but it lost the Western Space charm of the series and went more straight down the line scifi. Would have been better more... western...ish...maybe.

YES, I totally agree! Like I said, I came into the fandom through the movie, which I adored--but I think if I had been a FF fan beforehand, the movie might have disappointed me. It just wasn't...Firefly, y'know?

I think you're right about the western space charm. Firefly had a real sense of place and time, which is what I thought Serenity lacked.

I was wondering what it was but I couldn't put my finger on it... TY for that.
(oh and that bit after Serenity landed. But that happened in an alternate universe)
