riverdressesRight, so, an update would be nice.
Well, I got all my Christmas shopping done, finally & sent out my packages on Monday. The lines weren't too bad, only five people ahead of me, so that was nice. & now I'm on a twisted parody of a holiday, so I'm quite happy right now! I'm SO glad to have my time off - there's going to be lots of bubble baths, shopping, SG-1 marathons, Farscape marathons, sleeping all day, staying up all night, giggling, manicures, fangirling, flailing, music playing && - moving into my new room hopefully! That's the bit I'm most excited for!
Also found out I'll be dragged over to family's on Christmas day - BOO! I just want to stay home & play with my pretty things & watch lots of . . . stuff. I could have done something with them on Christmas Eve, but the last time I did that, I threw up on Christmas Day, so I'm going to try going on Christmas instead. Hopefully there won't be a repeat of Betsy being sick FOR NO FRAKKING REASON then!
& fandom! I finished season nine of SG-1 tonight FINALLY, & if I may do a bit of flailing/noting of random shit please?
- Okay, yes, when I FIRST got into season nine, I was all, 'OMG I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN WATCH THIS, THERE'S NO JACK OR SAM, O NOES', but dude, CAMERON MITCHELL. & VALA MAL DORAN OMG. SRSLY. As soon as Cameron came on . . . well, you all know how that went. ::giggles:: But now I really DO adore Cameron & don't even NOTICE the lack of Jack - I'm quite fine with it now!
- DUDE, VALA IS STILL AWESOME. & I actually forgot all about her being married & her daughter Adria. But I think Vala must have been a sweet wife, I do. & I know she would have been a good mother.Maybe she & Daniel can try again?
- Is now a good time to mention that I've NEVER been too interested in the legend of Camelot? Really, I never have, not even in Morgan Le Fay, even though she IS fae - it just never appealed to me. So yeah, opening & closing eps kind of bored me, but VALA & CAMERON WERE HOT & AWESOME & THERE WERE SPACE BATTLES. ALL GOOD.
- OMG CAMERON CAN FIGHT WITH A SWORD.
- The Ori creep me out. It's the eyes.
- I WANT MOAR BA'AL PLZ. SRSLY. That's ANOTHER System Lord I am fully crushing on, THERE, SAID IT, YAY!
- Sam's got pretty hair in season nine.
- Okay, it took me FORFRAKKINGEVER to figure out WHY they had so much intel on Atlantis & the Pegasus galaxy, until I realised that SGA BEGAN when SG-1 was in its eighth season, if I remember right . . . so basically, until I remembered that, I was all '. . . Daniel, how the FUCK do you know anything about Wraith or ZPMs? YOU NEVER EVEN GOT TO ATLANTIS.' Um, yeah, Betsy = moron.
- Dude, Vala was pregnant! Wouldn't it be kind of cool if Teyla's baby turned out to be an Atlantean Adria, or something? That's the only way I'd be cool with Teyla having a baby.
- Vala is very beautiful in faerymaiden dresses.
- I saved this one for last - Daniel is just SO different in season nine . . . I can't explain why, but he seems a lot colder & more remote than he ever did before. I've heard that he is pretty different in the last two seasons, but still, seeing it for myself is pretty . . . yeah, I don't quite know how to put it. For me? It just seems that he's lost that dreaminess of his, that almost ethereal, idealistic feel he had in earlier seasons. In fact, I would venture to say that in season nine, he's definitely lost what made him ever so slightly spacefae-like. He's tougher & a lot harder - more like a warrior than a scholar now, I think. Or that's just how I saw it & the general feeling I get from him now. I still adore him, but admittedly? My Daniel fangirling is cooling, just a teeny bit. Mostly because I have Cameron & Vala to occupy my fangirling obsessions, I think, but I think it's partly because of how cold Daniel seems to be now. I do still ♥ him though - he was the one that got my attention first & I am still hoping for more Daniel/Vala interaction, but he's just so different now - it's odd, but I knew it was coming, so I can't say it really came by surprise.
- Am I the only one not feeling Cameron/Daniel? I just . . . I mean, if it's Daniel/Vala/Cameron, I like it, but beyond that, I just DON'T. O, well. Give it time, yes?
Okay, I lied - I DO kind of feel it, but not as strongly as I felt the Jack/Daniel, or even the Sam/Daniel or Daniel/Vala.
- I DO feel Cameron/Teal'c ever so slightly. 'CAUSE IT IS SO THERE.
- Cameron's accent makes me SHAMEFULLY weak in the knees. YUMMY!
- Cameron also talks like me, somewhat. It's kind of funny!
- Also, does Cameron remind anyone else of Dean Winchester?
I got up to Morpheus tonight but I WANT MOAR SG-1 NOW.
& before I actually end this update, I have a song to share! A pretty song that feels very Daniel-esque to me, so I think some of you may like it - & even if you haven't seen any SG-1, you should still download it - it's very lovely.

Date: 2007-12-21 04:43 pm (UTC)S9 was pretty different - and not just the eps that intro'd Cam (he does seem a tad Dean Winchester-ish...hee) and Vala. Just didn't get a whole lot of a team feeling in most of it, not as many sweet lil friendship moments as there were in the past. Tho' I did squeee in tones only dogs could hear at the teeny tiny Sam/Daniel moments like in Arthur's Mantle... *squees again*
Speaking of which, have you seen the Sam/Daniel Bingo Card?
