(o, this uncertainty is taking me over)

Eye exam tomorrow morning at nine-thirty. Grrrr. Definitely not looking forward to sporting my Tenth Doctor/Clark Kent specs or lacking my Edie Sedgwick-esque eye makeup. But I need an eye exam & more contacts quite badly, so sacrifices must be made, alas.
Damn, why don't I ever buy waterproof eye makeup? Waterproof eye makeup & defogger for my specs.
Screencapping continues to be a pain in my arse & there's a good chance that I'm just going to have to do it manually - screencapping is always nice, but doing it manually in VLC is such a drag - tedious, tiring & frustrating. But my caps just . . . vanish if I try to do it automatically, so if I want caps, I'll just have to do it all by hand. Ah, well. I've got some pretty subject matter to work with, so maybe it'll be less of a chore! It'll just take longer to get it all done.
& in less wah-wah-wah, I went skipping off to
fanmix in search of Zod/Tess mixes & whilst I came up empty-handed (booo!) for them, I found - & yes, I'm shocked that I'm even going with this; but crack is fun - a really nice Zod/Lois mix! (Again, my shock is almost immeasurable, but Pandora is wicked shippy if you liked those two. & the phone fakeouts & Salvation up until the phonebooth scene are also pretty shippy. I'd . . . read it? & okay, maybe ship it. But I'm too busy scheming on how to promote moar Zod/Tess to think of them.)
I alsoforced myself to sit through watched Superman II last weekend. It was . . . well, not my thing, but it was nice. & I thought the fortress of solitude looked really Gallifreyan in design, which amused me during all the dull bits, i.e., the non-Zod or Clark bits.
& you know, the weirdest thing? I came out slightly hearteyes for Clark Kent. But then again, I've never been overly fond of Superman - he bores me, actually, & I was a Batman girl as a child. But Clark? Awww! He gets me right in my heart because of that sweet awkwardness he has. I like cutely awkward sorts!
Hmm. I remember once talking with
nentari about how Sarah Jane Smith, in her early serials with Three, was very Lois Lane-esque herself, even in her wardrobe & overall look. I definitely saw that in the film & I sort of see it in Smallville!Lois too, even though I don't think she & Sarah are as much alike there. I think Smalliville!Lois is maybe a bit more Martha Jones-esque (especially in Pandora!) than Sarah-esque, but they're still a fair bit alike. But, hey, I loved Martha too, so it's a win-win situation all around.
& I'm pretty sure all of that preamble was just so I could mention how the Genesis song Me and Sarah Jane made me think of Clark & Lois without everyone thinking I'd lost my mind. (well, it sort of does! I think you just have to use your imagination to make it fit a bit.)
I went back to using my Twitter today at
wordsindreams' enabling suggestion, since she's using hers more lately. I'm riverdresses there as well, should you want to follow me! (I update way too much there; you've been warned)
Hmm. Sort of want to practise my eye makeup now in lieu of of being able to wear any tomorrow - I know some of it will stay on & make it look like I have some on, so I'd have more of a Nico-esque, rather than Edie-esque look.
Also, LJ fucked around with the tags again, & made it so that any tag with a slash is basically a broken link, so I have to start reorganising my tags soon. GAH, WHAT THE FUCK WAS WRONG WITH THE OLD SYSTEM, REALLY.
Edit: AAAAH OMG, THE MAKER OF SAID MIX MADE A BUNCH OF BEAUTIFUL ZOD & ZOD/LOIS ICONS FUCK YES! ::DANCES:: (It's been a bitch to find good, gorgeous, awesome Zod-centric icons. I DO NOT APPROVE. ::hisses:: brb, swiping & uploading all of them.)
Edit II: I forgot to add above, that after a little thinkythink (& seeing the Zod/Lois icons I flailed about above), I've come to the conclusion that Zod/Lois = Simm!Master/Martha, but somehow, not as squick-inducing for me. (I can read Simm!Master/Martha, but it kind of makes me uncomfortable & I've never figured out why.) Zod/Lois, on the other hand is just hot & twisted, & not like Zod/Tess - that's just evil & hot. So I could feasibly enjoy them more than I ever could Simm!Master/Martha. Go figure.

Date: 2010-10-13 02:34 pm (UTC)Hmmm...
Can't you make it ladylike?
It was a very stylish era.
The downer of that battle is that they made Adric and Luke fight each other because they dislike them equally. *shakes head*
You're evil, you are! Well, if you're being like that, I just want to add that the reason why, as I mentioned before, I had a crush on Smallville!Jonathan when I was a wee girlie was because he looked like this. And he's still very much on the yummy side, even now that my taste has evolved.
(Well, if I remember correctly, in the old days comics!Kara's secret identity used to be a supermodel, so it would make sense for her to look as such.)
(IN OTHER WORDS, SHE OUT-LEXED LEX. Alas, the Smallville DVDs over here stopped sometime around S4 or S5. Yeah, Lana knew about Clark's secret identity in the comics (or at least the adult Lana did) and was okay with that. And the blood transfusion plot is a very common one - that's how Bruce Banner's cousin became She-Hulk, y'know. And I like it that both Super-Lois and Super-Lana in the catfight cover have the same superhero logo (it's probably a joke regarding the fact that all of Clark's girlfriends had the initials LL - his other famous girlfriend was an Atlantis-born mermaid called Lori Lemaris). Super-Lois = Super-Zod? O_O
Oh my. Definitely not liking this Oliver as much as I do mine. *tickles his goatee* I don't know if Roy ever joined a cult, but he's the sort of fellow who would have easily done such a thing, yes. And yes, comics!Mia was a streetwalker as well before Oliver met her. Actually, Dinah is the runaway from Birds of Prey, as they made her much younger in the show in order to play with the fact that there were two Black Canaries - Dinah Drake, the mother, was the original Black Canary in the old days, and her daughter, Dinah Lance (Oliver's Dinah) took the mantle from the '80s onwards. She was reluctant to follow on her mother's footsteps and wearing the same revealing uniform, but eventually (after wearing a rather ugly jumpsuit for a while) she caved in. And a quick browse at Wikipedia has shown me that their marriage seems to be over because the powers that be want each of them to be the star in a different comic book (they also seem to have ruined a bit of how Ollie used to be and made him a bloodlusting vigilante with at least three biological children from previous relationships). :(
Well, he always was a bit Shakespearean, with a dash or Robin Hood thrown in the mix.
...hey, now I have a mental image of Sam Troughton as a young Green Arrow! :O
* *petpet*
*
Why should I need to marry anyone, let alone a Time Lord?Well, it's funny. Professor Dave likes to make people see/hear him as a grumpy old fart, but he does a really great Sex God voice when he wants to.

Date: 2010-10-14 08:58 am (UTC)YES, DO IT, YOU WANT TO.
I don't know how! :(
INDEED. :D
Well, I don't like Star Wars AT ALL & I don't like Adric that much, so . . .
Well, I have to keep you spoiler-free until it's deemed proper! WHOA, THAT WAS . . . unexpected! ::giggle:: But you're right, he was still rather handsome when I saw him. :D
(HEE - when I saw her in Smallville, she WAS a model, but she was modelling AS Supergirl - she was apparently on a mission from Jor-El & she needed to get a lot of exposure as soon as she could. Lois, however, didn't think it was a good idea. & I don't think Clark really did either.)
(I HIGHLY DOUBT LEX WOULD HAVE BEEN BADASS ENOUGH TO GET INTO A FISTFIGHT WITH ZOD. THEREFORE, TESS > LEX, AT LEAST FOR ME. :D :D WTF, WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME SOONER! ::CRIES:: NOW YOU'LL NEVER GET TO SEE THE AWESOME & THE SEXY! ::CRIES:: Yes, when I saw her, she was all grown up & he was actually surprised to see her too. O! O, yes, now I remember - I DID know that, but I forgot . . . but still, I say it's cheating. ;P OMG, why does he attract girls with the same initials?! ::giggly:: Yes . . . ZOD IS DRESSED UP LIKE LOIS TO KILL SUPERMAN, REALLY.
Yesh, Smallville!Oliver is prettyish, but I think I'd like comicverse!Oliver so much more. & whilst perusing Superdickery (dude, you got me totally hooked on that site, THANKS A LOT. :P), I saw a cover featuring Speedy - now I see why he became the Red Arrow. I loved Mia - she needed more episodes! ACK! I KNEW the name Dinah sounded REALLY familiar when it came to Birds of Prey! I can't believe I forgot she was in it. :O (& I'm surprised they made Oliver like that - I would have thought they would have chosen to make him more like Smallville!Oliver, AKA a great big manwhore.)
& ALL of that can be quite sexy! So he's the perfect Green Arrow!
. . . OMFG YESPLZ. :D :D We can has?
* ::meows & jumps up and down on her pink paws::
*
Well, think of all the fun you'd have!::giggly:: I wish someone sexy would say MY name.

Date: 2010-10-14 03:38 pm (UTC)Do I?
Can't you give it a go?
And so was the next decade, as Daisy Adair is
livingproof.Okay, then. :)
Thank you. It was, wasn't it? I used to watch The Dukes of Hazzard when I was a wee tot, and he had that baby face and those curls back then. But, beautiful though he was, I'm glad he aged like a fine wine - a lot of celebrities who were cute at a young age did not evolve that well.
(In the comics, her secret identity was called Linda Lee and she had a brown wig.)
THE LEX IN THE COMICS PERHAPS, AND MAYBE KEVIN SPACEY IN THE MOST RECENT MOVIE; SMALLVILLE!LEX WAS A BIT WET, AND GENE HACKMAN'S LEX WAS A HALF-BRAINED DIMWIT. OOH, AND NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, THE LEGENDARY TIGER MAN'S SONG SHE'S A HELLCAT, WHICH INITIALLY MADE ME THINK OF LEELA, WOULD PROBABLY BE MORE SUITABLE FOR TESS, OR EVEN FOR TESS/ZOD. I KNOW! :( How would the nurse be able to insert the needle in his arm, for instance? At least with Zod they came up with an answer to that. And if you think about it, Kara's secret identity's initials in the comics were also LL - oh dear... CROSS-DRESSING ZOD FTW!
Blame Neil Gaiman - he was the one who got me hooked on that site years ago. :P Yeah, Speedy really likes the colour red, doesn't he? Maybe more episodes with Mia will come in the near future? (Well, the idea that he fathered a bucketload of babies before meeting Dinah seems to imply he is a bit on the manwhorish side, don't you think?)
He is, yes!
My brain likes the idea. SAM FOR
TWELVEGREEN ARROW!* *offers treat*
*
Give me my own TARDIS, and I'll have all the fun I'll ever need - namely going back to the dates were burninated episodes of Doctor Who and The Goodies were aired, recording them, and then coming back to the present-day and drop said recordings at the BBC. Oh yes, and going to 1968 and lock myself in a hotel room with Frazer Hines, a feather boa and a jar of chocolate sauce. :PWell, write a letter to Professor Dave, then, and tell him "I agree with Danielle - your voice is like sex." He'll do the rest, then. :P
(A little explanation of his podcast, then. The idea is to talk about aspects of popular culture - TV shows, movies, music, etc - that people think should be saved in a space ark if the world came to an end and humanity had to flee. Professor Dave is a South-Londoner in his late 40s (though Tony keeps increasing his age to the point that he's over 2000 years by now) who sometimes does audio contributions to the Flashing Blade. He co-presents the Ark in Space with a schoolteacher from Florida who began commenting at the Flashing Blade as "lisaane" before Professor Dave came up with the alias "Lillibet the Wonder Girl" for this project. They occasionally invite other people to talk about some subjects; one such people is Doctor Thomas, whom Professor Dave announced recently will become a regular in the near future with a feature they're keeping a secret for now, while another is a friend of Lillibet called Danielle who is INSANE (and who played an orc in one of the LotR movies) and who made such a sensation when she made her initial guest appearance that she's now become a co-presenter as well, under the codename Squirrel Girl.

::shakes head sadly::
YES! MAH DAISY! ::twirls her about::
::bows:: & I've TRIED to like it. But I can't! :D
You're welcome! Just . . . tell me when you want to get spoiled & I'll do so. Aww! & yes, agreed, depressingly. ::nodnod::
(SHE DYES HER HAIR BROWN AT THE END OF HER LAST EPISODE! & she wore glasses - Clark didn't even recognise her!)
(REALLY? [I KIND OF WANT TO SEE THE MOST RECENT ONE FOR SOME REASON . . . ] & I HATED LEX IN THE SECOND FILM. I KEPT SAYING IN A VERY ALICE-ESQUE VOICE, 'YOU'RE NOT LEX LUTHOR! YOU HAVE HAIR!' & YES, HE WAS A TWIT. & OF COURSE, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN SMALLVILE!LEX WHATSOEVER - YAWWWWWWN. ACCCCK! ::RUNS OFF TO LISTEN:: & YOU KNOW, I ACTUALLY WAS THINKING ABOUT A PEACHES SONG FOR HER. :D ::BRAINTWINZ:: & DUDE, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS? D: True, true . . . & we got Shirtless!Zod out of it, happily! ::dances:: [& also, you really should try & see all of Conspiracy - there are cute Kandorian sisters, Zod being awesome as always, Lois being equally awesome & saving his life & Clark being . . . Clark, really. It's really dark, but it's all worth it for Zod & Lois. :D :D It's one of my favourites, actually.] I noticed . . . WTF IS WITH ALL THE LL-INITIALLED GIRLS IN CLARK'S LIFE?! [Also, his adoptive mum shares the same name as Bruce Wayne's mum, if I remember right.] CROSS-DRESSING!ZOD IS STILL MORE BADASS THAN MOST THINGS! ::NODS::
More reasons to love Neil then! ^__^ & he sure does! But he seems to wear it well. I haven't heard anything about that, but I hope so. I really liked her & Oliver training her actually made me like him a bit. (I SUPPOSE . . . but I'm not used to manwhores having so many kids! Usually . . . they don't? ::giggle::)
INDEED. ::big smiles::
THIS, THIS, THIS!
BUT WHO WOULD BE DINAH?* ::noms it adorably from your hand::

Why not?
The style goddess.
:D
I don't mind being spoiled. Hurray for this exception, then!
(Hurray for canon-consistency!)
(KEVIN SPACEY'S LEX WAS ONE OF THE FEW THINGS IN THE NEW MOVIE THAT WORKED - UNLIKE IN THE OLD MOVIES WHERE HE SUCKED BIG TIME. HE DOESN'T HAVE HAIR, THOUGH - THAT'S A WIG! WELL, DOES THAT SONG WORK FOR HER? I DON'T KNOW! D: Indeed, even if it was waxed!shirtless!Zod. *refuses to let it go* [Hmm...] The writers were all obsessed with the letter, apparently - we also had Lucy! [Yes, they're both called Martha.] AS PRISCILLA HAS SHOWN US!
Yes indeedy! I feel the fact that Green Arrow's outfit is clearly based on Errol Flynn's Robin Hood might have some influence in this as well, since Will Scarlett dressed in the same colours as Speedy. We can only hope she'll make a comeback. (Well, the kids were the result of flings rather than stable relationships, so it counts as manwhoring.)
:D
WELL, IF SHE'S ALLOWED TO WEAR THE UGLY JUMPSUIT INSTEAD OF THE FISHNETS, THEN... ME? *CHEEKY GRIN** *pets*

BUT WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?But if I do it, I'll make him say my name. :P (It is, yes)

::twirls her Daisy all about:: Yes!
^_^
Wellllllll . . . what do you WANT to get spoiled for, hmm? (yes, I might be caving. I suck.) Absolutely! :D
(YES, YES!)
(SO DID MOST OF IT SUCK? I HAVE HAD MY FREAKOUT OVER KATE BOSWORTH BEING CAST AS LOIS ALREADY - NOOOOO! ::CRIES:: NOT ONE OF MY LOISES! & WAIT, HE WORE A WIG TO VISIT ZOD? ::IZCONFUSED:: EITHER WAY, LEX CAN NEVER HAVE HAIR. IT'S JUST WEIRD! I DUNNO YET, I HAVE TO RELISTEN TO IT LATER, BUT I'LL TELL YOU. ::CRIES:: WELL, HOW DID YOU GET YOUR DEAD LIKE ME DVDS? GO THAT ROUTE? Zod lacking a shirt [& I GUESS I can tell you that it wasn't the only time he didn't have one on & you would have much preferred the second time!] calls for a celebration no matter what's going on, yes? ::hopes you never do, as she loves teasing you about it:: [It's definitely one of his best episodes. No Tess, but he gets great ones with her after & before. FIND IT. & come on, cute Kandorian sisters! One of whom works in a bookshop!] I FORGOT ABOUT LUCY! WTF, MAN. O_o [. . . Wouldn't it be the ultimate AU if somehow, Bruce's mum survived the shooting but with severe memory loss & wound up moving to Smallville, marrying Jonathan Kent & being Clark's adoptive mum too? That . . . that kind of makes my bran hurt just THINKING about it, but that WOULD be awesome. :P] HELL YES!
[& on tonight's Smallville, I learnt that Lois was apparently enrolled at Smallville High for twenty-three days, but she showed up for about five of them. But she thinks of it as home. AWW!
Tonight's episode made me really teary-eyed a few times! & um, it actually made me hurt for Oliver. & actually . . . maybe like him a bit.]& since you mentioned Speedy, I found something else at Superdickery featuring Speedy!
& other things that made me flail & go FLOP!& I reeeeeeally don't know if Mia would come back - last week, Oliver did something that - well, it might not be considered stupid exactly, but he might think it a bit dangerous for her to be around him. (Well, okay then . . . ::throws a lot of prophylactics at Oliver's head::)^__________^
Cheeky kitteh! ::tickles:: But you probably wouldn't be in anything ugly!* ::is a happy mewing kitty::

What if you impersonate Victoria? She was ladylike and she screamed.
I want to know what happened to
BoJonathan, obviously. (Cave innnnnn!) :D(Indeedydoody!)
(I ONLY SAW PART OF IT, SO I CAN'T SAY MUCH ABOUT ITS QUALITY. KATE BOSWORTH WASN'T AS BAD AS I FEARED SHE'D BE, BUT SHE WAS WAAAAAY TOO YOUNG TO PLAY LOIS AT THE TIMELINE THE STORY IS SET. NO, MOVIE!LEX WORE A WIG AT ALL TIMES - IT WAS AN EXCUSE SO THAT GENE HACKMAN WOULD STILL HAVE HIS OWN HAIR IN MOST OF THE SCENES, AND TO ADD TO THE "DODGY CAR SALESMAN" IMAGE HE HAD IN IT. THE LEX FROM LOIS & CLARK HAD HAIR - AND HE HAD THE PERSONALITY AND MENACE HE'S MEANT TO HAVE AND WHICH IS SERIOUSLY LACKING IN THE GENE HACKMAN AND SMALLVILLE VERSIONS. PLEASE DO, DEAR. I TOLD YOU IN MY OTHER COMMENTS - I COULD OLDER THE DEAD LIKE ME DVDS BECAUSE MY FATHER DIDN'T KNOW THE SHOW, BUT HE DOES KNOW THIS ONE AND WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO ORDER IT. I guess it does, but I'd celebrate it even more if his chest wasn't as bald as Lex Luthor's head. [Interesting...] And I'm sure if we search long enough, we might find others. [Alas, the timeline doesn't fit, as Martha Kent was Jonathan's childhood sweetheart, and apparently is considerably older than Martha Wayne.]
[AWW indeed. :D
Oh my.]Hee, I had seen that one. :P Did you see the one where the superheroes are worrying about the fate of their girlfriends? Well, Oliver in the comics was always worrying like that. (I think it might be too late for that now. :P)
Well, I think the jumpsuit would fit me.* *snuggles*

Well . . . YOU NEED TO JUST DOWNLOAD THINGS! I DIDN'T WANT TO SAY IT, BUT IF YOU CAN'T GET IT ON DVD, THERE'S YOUR FALLBACK! (Whyyyyyy?!)
(Mewmew!)
(I'M STILL SCARED! AH, I GET IT. & YES, HE WAS VERY MUCH LIKE LIKE A DODGY USED CAR SALESMAN - I REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE LIKE HIM GOT TO OWN SOMETHING LIKE LUTHORCORP. THE FUUUUUUCK?
& after watching some of the extended version - I slept through the first one & most of the second one, but I'm going to watch the first one in a few hours - I REALLY sort of wouldn't have minded groping Classic!Zod a little. He had way more scenes & was even more awesome than the first time. :DI LIKED Lois & Clark!LEX! HE WAS ACTUALLY KIND OF AWESOME, I THINK. YES, HE'D BE MY FAVOURITE VERSION AS WELL. I WILL. :O :O :O THEN . . . DOWNLOADS TIME! LUCKILY YOU HAVE THAT! :D Well, I saw his chest later. It had hair, much to my slight displeasure & much to your pleasure. :P [It's a great episode!] BOOOOOOO! [DAMN! It would have been something nice for everyone involved, I think.][It was a pretty good episode, I must say, despite James Marsters as Braniac! I say that because while I've seen all of Buffy years ago, I can honestly say I hate it. But aside from that, I was all wibbly through so many spots in it!
I know, right?]I haven't seen that one, but I DID see the one featuring Speedy the druggie & then the one with him carrying some drugged up kid away, which, you have to admit, is ironically LOLZ-y. Awww . . . then I like him even more. ♥ (Well, he can still keep them as a reminder. ;P & maybe use them next time!)
Aww, berry!smiley!
But you'd have to be sexy as Canary! & speaking of Canary being sexy, Superdickery has one of the most femmeslashy moments I've seen in a while between Barbara & Dinah. I was like, 'O_O :D :D YAY!' when I saw it. Though they BOTH seem to be wearing bits of Psylocke's outfit, which makes me giggle.* ::goes 'mew, mew!'

Classic!Zod is definitely groppage material - Terence Stamp was hot stuff, after all.HE WAS INDEED - HE HAD THE SAME CHARISMA CALLUM!ZOD HAS, I THINK. I DON'T, REALLY - ONLY FOR DISJOINTED SCENES. Yay chest hair! *does the chest hair dance* [Goody. :D] BOO INDEED! [I can just imagine the family reunions. :P][I quite like Buffy - well, the earlier seasons, anyway. Was James Marsters' Brainiac green?
That's an unexpected turn of events.]It really is ironic, yes. But anyway, this is the one I was talking about. :P (Yeah, I think he'll need a reminder.)
I don't need to when I have the blue jumpsuit! :P Superdickery is filled with femmeslashy moments in a section dedicated mainly to Wonder Woman, y'know. Maybe Psylocke crossed-over from Marvel for a bit of threesome fun? :P* *offers you a kitty treat*

(I S'POSE. YEAH, IN THE MOVIES HE'S A RIGHT TWERP. I didn't mean Ursa - I meant movie!Lex's girlfriend, Eve Teschmacher; acording to Wikipedia, Tess was created as a mix of Eve and Mercy Graves (Lex's badass bodyguard in the cartoon series).
I told you he was right at the beginning. What did you think of his speech? Is there really?OF COURSE SRSLY - DIDN'T YOU NOTICE THE CHARISMA OOZING OUT OF STAMP? I CAAAAAAAAN'T! Yaaaaaay chest hair! [:D] TONS OF BOO! [Batman and Superman as stepbrothers... tee-hee.][According to my father, it should have ended after series three. *shrugs* Oh dear - Brainiac is meant to be green! Here's how he looks like in the comics. Oh, and this is his descendant, Brainiac 5, who is a good guy; he's part of the Legion of Superheroes, which are from the 31st century and whom Superboy and Supergirl (Brainiac 5 had a huge crush on her) used to visit on a regular basis thanks to their time-travelling skills. I'm sure you've found a bunch of members from the Legion in the "stupour powers" section of Superdickery, as several of them had really ridiculous powers.
It is.]Verreh silleh. It's one of the best things ever, I think. (How can he use his bow and arrows now that you've injured him?!)
UGLY ON HER, NOT ON ME! :D There's so much bondage in those stories. *grins* And you know the story behind Wonder Woman's creator, don't you? Ooh, knickers! I think I prefer Union Jack ones, though. :P HEE! I remember Emily Deschanel dressed like Wonder Woman in Bones - it was so cute. Feel free, m'dear!* *pets you while you nom it*

IT'S SPELLED D-O-W-N-L-O-A-D-S. (DAMN YOU. :P)
(::plays with it happily, waving her tail wildly::)
(WELL, IS HE A CUTE CLARK? I PREFER CLARK TO SUPERMAN SOMETIMES! YOU BET! BUT IT WAS LOLZY WHEN HE PULLED HIS WIG OFF IN PRISON. HEEEE. OH! ZOMG! ZOMG, SERIOUSLY? [& I think I remember Mercy - if I do, then yes, I really liked her! :D]
I LOVED IT! JOR-EL WAS A DOOFUS TO REFUSE HIS OFFER! ZOD'S QUITE WONDERFUL, IN ALL INCARNATIONS. ::wiggly toes:: & YES, THERE IS! IT INVOLVES A BIKINI.I DID! THE SECOND TIME, I THINK, BUT PROBABLY THE FIRST TIME TOO. ::fans self:: ::SHAKES YOU:: TRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY! Hmph, chest hair! ::izstillpouty:: [Download that episode!] EXTRA BOO! [I'm surprised they never did that storyline. XD][It would have ended well there too; I'm not picky. :D OMG! James Marsters' Brainiac IS Brainiac 5 this time! & wait, time-travel abilities? O_O & I don't remember any of them at this very moment, but I feel I have.
I KNOW!]::bites them:: AGREED! (Well, every time he DOES, he'll remember his prophylactics! :D ::staples some to his shoulder next::)
::hugs her::
ARE YOU SURE? HOW DO YOU KNOW? I KNOOOOOOOOW. I likes that too. ::cheeky twinkle:: & I don't think I do, actually. :O TELL! They were lovely knickers, & I think they had her symbol on the bum. ;D AWW, I wants to seee! GIMME! ::THROWS SELF AT THE THREE OF THEM::* ::is a happy, healthy kitty::

IT'S SPELLED I-C-A-N-T-F-I-N-D-I-T. (TEE-HEE.)
(*pets you while you play*)
(I DIDN'T GET TO SEE HIM AS CLARK, ALAS. IT WAS! YES, SERIOUSLY! [Check here if you want to confirm if Mercy is the one you remember - and read the bit about Smallville and you'll see what I've heard about the inspiration behind Tess.]
YEEEEEEEEEAH! A bikini? o_OSEE? HOOOOOOOOOOOW? Yes, chest hair! *tickles it* [I only have a small bit of it, but I can't describe it yet because I haven't watched it.] BOOOOOO! [Too much crack?][I've always said that, if I could only buy one season from Buffy, it would be S2 - and so I did. I love Angelus. You mean he's a good guy? Back in the classic days, Superman and Supergirl could time-travel by flying at a particular speed; in the movie he used a variant of that skill to turn back time. Since you don't remember, here's a few of the members of the Legion: Arm-Fall-Off-Boy! Barber Boy! Porcupine Pete! And finally, Matter-Eater Lad!]
They're still silleh, even after you bit them. :D (Ouch!)
I AM - IT'D WORK WELL WITH MY CURVES. Well, the creator of Wonder Woman lived with his two girlfriends in a menage a trois arrangement, and used aspects from both of them to create the character. I can imagine. *grins* Okay, you've asked for it - the episode of Bones where this happened was set in Halloween, and Bones decided to dress as Wonder Woman, while Booth (David Boreanaz's character) dressed as a nerd, and they went to solve their case dressed like this; and at the end of the episode, Bones did the twirly thing the TV version of Wonder Woman used to do, and it was very sweet and adorable. Enjoy!* *cuddles you*

(DAMN! THEN HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF IT'S ANY GOOD? :O THAT WAS THE ONLY THING HE DID THAT I LIKED, YOU KNOW. [ASDFGHJKL.;/LKJHGFVDSA YES, THAT IS THE MERCY I REMEMBER & OMFG, I LOVED HER SO SO MUCH. I thought she was BADASS & I loved how she didn't take shit from anyone - she was AWESOME! & OMG, I loved Superman: The Animated Series so much when I was a little girl - that version of Lois is probably my top favourite - no, I think she IS my favourite. :D She was just as awesome as Mercy was. & GAAAAAH, SHE INSPIRED MY BB TESS! ::IZDEDOFHAPPY:: & now I DO know that I'll be watching series eight of Smallville to see Tess first show up! :D]
Jor-El is not only a bit mean, but a doofus! YES. I CAN'T MAKE THIS UP.I DON'T KNOW! BOO, CHEST HAIR. ::pokes you:: [You have a bit of Conspiracy already? EEEK!] MOOOOOOAR BOO! [Okay, HOW would that be too cracky considering some of the other things they've done? :P][I liked series two, but series one is probably my favourite. & yes he is & he ALSO has the Legion ring, which is how he got to Clark. & incidentally, Lois took the Legion ring after getting into a fistfight with Tess at the end of series eight & that's how she time-travelled. O, I see! & okay, HOW would Superman & Batman being half-brothers be crackier that THOSE idiots?! Though, I did know of Matter-Eater Lad when I was a little girl - I kind of liked his power & I have a weirdly soft spot in my heart for him even now.]
::pokes them:: (IT'LL BE GOOD FOR HIS MEMORY!)
::GLOMPS HER::
WELL, IF YOU INSIST . . . OOOOO, SCANDAL! ::CLAPS HANDS:: Awwwww, cute & hot! & I used to do the twirly thing too as a tiny miss! :D I WILL, DUN WORRY. :D :D* ::moos happily in your arms and snuggles in your shirt::

(*cuddles*)
(GOOD POINT. REALLY? [I didn't watch the animated series, and I don't remember why. I'll be looking forward to knowing what you think of it, then.]
Well, he DOES look like Marlon Brando... I NEED EVIDENCE.WHY NOT? KNEEL BEFORE THE POWER OF THE CHEST HAIR! [A research has shown me that what I actually have is the episode after that one. :/] AND EVEN MOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR BOO! [I... don't know? Maybe if it's revealed that Bizarro is also their brother?][I have a problem in that I prefer the earlier seasons, but the latter ones are the ones that feature my favourite character, Anya. It's a little paradoxical, isn't it? Ooh, that's an interesting twist there... Well, the Legion rejected all those idiots - apart from Matter-Eater Lad, that is, whom I remember seeing a lot in those stories I read. I also remember Dreamer, whose power was to see the future in her dreams, and a girl who had Superman-like abilities but only during the nighttime, as the sun would weaken her powers - she was rejected by the legion, but made it to the B-team. I don't know her original name (in the Portuguese translation she was called Nocturna) but she was awesome.]
Nope, still silleh. (Will it really?)
I DO. :D And very forward for the time, if you think about it. I love that episode - besides Wonder Bones, there's also the glory that is seeing Angel... I mean, Booth doing a nerd-voice. :D* *tickles*

ME &TESS!]But I found him . . . a bit ugleh. ::HIDES:: REWATCH THE SECOND MOVIE!'CAUSE! ONLY IF ZOD'S SPORTING IT! [WAIT A MINUTE. Is it Escape? If so WATCH IT. JUST WATCH IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH & YOU'LL THANK ME FOR IT.] ULTRA-BOOOOOOOO! [SEE? LOLZ. Well, I could take that, maybe.][Well, she's in series three & four! So you still have her! :D I liked it, I think. Hmmm! ::looks interested:: & I like the sound of Dreamer. ^_^]
DAMN. (Pain = memory! :D]

A LONG TIME AGO!THINK BACK AS FAR AS YOU CAN! (::nibbles her leaves::)
Part 1
Date: 2010-10-21 04:15 pm (UTC)Not zombie-related and only tangentially connected to Halloween, but after listening to your thoughts on The Princess Bride I decided to submit to you another work featuring the great Mandy Patinkin: the TV show Dead Like Me.
The premise of this show is that Death, rather than being the one directly involved in taking lives, acts as "upper management", merely deciding who is to die, and leaving the dirty work to his minions. The actual act of dying is caused by gremlin-like creatures known as Gravelings, while the Grim Reapers have the task of collecting the soul of the deceased and help them cross over. This should preferably be done before the actual death, in order for the person to feel no pain.
Grim Reapers, it should be noted, used to be normal human beings who become Death's assistants by mere luck (or lack of it, depending on your perspective). When you become a Reaper, Death attributes you with a random number of souls to collect; you'll never know what that number is until you reach it, at which point you'll be allowed to cross over, and the last soul you've collected will become a new Reaper.
We learn of this strange underworld of Gravelings and Reapers through the eyes of Georgia Lass, better known as George, who dies at the age of 18 when she is hit by a toilet seat from the de-orbiting Mir space station. She joins the team of Reapers specialized in deaths by "external influence" (i.e., murders, suicides and accidents) from her home town, Seattle. The fact that she's still close to the people and places she knew while she was alive add an extra amount of drama to the story since, besides having to cope with her new "life" as a Grim Reaper, she also has to witness how her dysfunctional family tries to cope with losing her. A funnier link to her old life is the fact that she goes back to work at her old job, and builds an interesting friendship with her insane and inappropriate boss Delores, who is probably one of Bryan Fuller's greatest comedic creations.
But back to the other Reapers. The head of the "external influence" group is Rube, played by Mandy Patinkin. He's the one who receives Death's list, handing to the others their assignments on post-it notes. (Something tells me Lillibet and Peggy will like him.) He becomes a surrogate father figure for George, whom he calls "Peanut", and is often frustrated by her.
Next is Roxy. I'm not going to tell you how she dies, since it's a big spoiler, but the very 1980s manner in which she died has made her a very angry and bitter woman.
Part 2
Date: 2010-10-21 04:15 pm (UTC)And finally we have my personal favourite, Mason, played by Callum Blue. Mason died in London in 1966 from trepanation - in other words, he drilled a hole in his own skull, as he was told it would help him achieve the ultimate high. This suggests that he was already consuming illicit substances when he was alive, but nowadays his addition to drugs and alcohol seems to be mainly to numb the pain he experiences from all the misery and suffering he sees as a Reaper. A recurring theme in the show is his infatuation with Daisy, which quickly evolves into a very bittersweet love story.
We also meet Reapers from other departments, like a young boy who collects the souls of pets or a hospital nurse who deals with natural causes. And then there's the Plague Division, who sadly only make a very brief appearance in the aired show, but who are seen in the deleted scenes of the pilot episode to be a very bored bunch, who spend their long and uneventful days playing bocce in the park and hoping that the squirrels there will start biting people so that they can start working again.
And that's the show in a nutshell. It's a great tale on life and death that brilliantly mixes drama with (very) dark humour, and it's filled with great quotable moments. I strongly recommend it, with the exception of the TV movie that followed it - that one should either be thrown into Mount Doom and forever removed from the fans' memories, or kept under lock and key in the Black Museum.
All the best,
Patricia

Sorry. [Let's hope you're ri... ooh, he just got another girl pregnant!]
