riverdressesUM! ::twirly hula hoop spacegirl dance:: Guess who finished season five of Stargate SG-1 last night? Yup, I did! SQUEE! I'm now offically at halftime & can now make with the fangirl squee, raves & tears!
WARNING! Capslock, squee & classy Betsy wackiness beyond this cut! O, & EXTREME DISORGANIZATION. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
OMG YES, MCKAY IS STILL MADE OF AWESOME, EVEN ON SG-1. 48 Hours was completely awesome & the neatest way to set up the character of Rodney McKay, seriously. & OMG, DAVID HEWLETT WAS STILL SO GORGEOUS, EVEN PRE-SGA. (yes, I played the bit of the pathetic fangirl & stared at him instead of Amanda in this episode . . . but HEY, I WAS A MCKAY GIRL FIRST, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?) & It was SO much fun watching Rodney & Sam snark & bitch at each other, it really was, but waaaaa, I'd been hoping Daniel would be around so Rodney could bitch at him for a bit! O well, the episode was still awesome & THE SAM & RODNEY WAS AWESOME.
& O WOW, DANIEL WAS ONE WITH THE . . . THE COOL STUFF IN THIS EP. Diplomatic!But!Ready!To!Play!Dirty!Daniel FOR THE WIN. & he was so very yummy in that suit, 'specially with his sleeves rolled up & looking slightly rushed all about . . . yay!

alli_everyday, I now see what you mean about Rodney being sort of second to Sam when they're together in this ep. But I still ♥ the fuck out of Sam!)
::giggles:: Okay, yeah, that was 48 Hours for me. Now I'll try to be a little more coherent now, but no promises.
Okay, where to start . . .
- Okay, so, in SGA, it took me a bit of time to come to like Teyla as much as I do now - I adore Teyla! She's cute & tough & just awesome. But I didn't have any real feelings toward her, or even toward Ronon when I first saw Runner. But when I first saw Teal'c in Children of the Gods, I was like, OKAY, THIS GUY IS FREAKING AWESOME & I LOVE HIM ALREADY. & it's funny - I find Teal'c SO much funnier than Teyla & Ronon - he just cracks me up in some episodes & they haven't, actually. Or maybe they have & I just don't remember, but I thought I'd mention that.
- I think the first ep that cemented my Sam Carter worship was Emancipation. Yes, scowl if you want, but Sam was brave & kickass in that ep & got a whole village of women liberated! & plus, she looked SO HOT in that blue dress!
- I still think there was a LOT of potential for Sam/Daniel in the first season, but no so much afterward. I think I do prefer them as friends now, but I wouldn't turn down Sam/Daniel porn, okay?
- AWWWWWW CASSIE & JANET. Okay, I HATED Cassie in Rite of Passage because she was SUCH a little bitch, but OMG, JANET ROCKED OUT LOUD IN THAT EP, AM I RIGHT? That ep just totally increased my Janet love, srsly. She TOTALLY had a Molly Weasley thing going on in this ep - think Molly in Deathly Hallows. Janet's Molly Weasley!
(& dude, this ep also made me flail with glee over the Sam/Janet! GIRLS, CAN YOU BE ANY GAYER TOGETHER? if so, PLEASE BE SO!)
I liked Cassie SO much in Singularity - I actually got a little teary-eyed when Sam refused to leave her all alone! & the end when Jack gave her the dog & she & Sam went to play on the swings - HEART-MELTING! (can Sam Carter be MY mommy please?)
- I have a fangirl's crush on Jack. There, I said it. & also? SAM/JACK IS VERY VERY SHINY & I THINK I KIND OF LIKE IT OKAY THERE.
(which brings me to my next point . . . )
- DIVIDE AND CONQUER MADE ME CRY. (okay, granted it WAS watched during a period of hightened female hormonal issues, but WHATEVER) O JACK. O SAM! YOU GUYS ADORE EACH OTHER & YOU SAID IT OUT LOUD & OMG YAY! (NOW I see why there are so many Sam/Jack fans out there!) & Jack made me sniffle when he said he cared about Sam more than he should! It was so sweet!
- Um, Window of Opportunity FTW! It was hysterical & AWW, THE SAM/JACK SMOOCHING! & Teal'c knocking some poor slob in the head with a door! ::snerk:: & then the ep got all properly angsty at the end & I was like BEST EPISODE EVER. & HEE, DANIEL LIKES WAFFLES. (WAFFLES ARE YAY.) & you know, about the sixth time Jack & Teal'c went through the time loop, I just started finding Daniel's half-question to Jack SO DAMN FUNNY. SERIOUSLY. I DON'T KNOW WHY.
- Holiday made me FLAIL with Daniel fangirl love! The ice cream scene! The diner scenes! THE INFIRMARY SCENES OMG HOW HOT WAS IT ALL? Evil/Dark/Not!In!His!Own!Body!Daniel is SHAMELESSLY HOT & I MEAN SHAMELESSLY. FAVOURITE EPISODE.
- Urgo WAS LOVE. ::giggles:: Teal'c drinking an entire pot of coffee in one long swallow made me CRY with laughter! & Jack & Daniel & Sam's little dessert adventure was so cute too! (I ♥ Daniel's 'Pie?' face! It makes me want to give him more pie!) Aww, that episode was sweetly fluffy & I loved it muchly.
- Forever in A Day hurt my heart SO SO MUCH. I made little flaily hands SO MANY TIMES FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT REASONS & I'm pretty sure I got all sniffly at some bits. O, DANIEL.Plz to be having your shirt off more often, OKAY? You poor sweetling! ::cuddles him:: Meeeeep. Just . . . SUCH a beautiful episode!
- Need made every fangirlish bit inside of me combust with happy. O DANIEL. & OMG YOU'RE LUCKY YOU HAVE JACK.I hate you, but I don't.
& now okay, I was getting here . . .
- Meridian kind of DESTROYED ME when I watched it last night. It was sad & painful & BETSY-BREAKING & yet so gentle & final & a beautiful way of killing Daniel off. (at least this time.) I pretty much sniffled my way through that entire episode, beginning to end. Watching Daniel deteriorate in that little bed was so very hard for my fangirl heart to take. & the scene with Sam right by his bed & trying not to cry but crying anyway? That did it, I got out my Hello Kitty tissues & started to sniffle. It was so hard to see everything up to that point but Sam being so emotional sort of pushed me even further. & almost every scene Jack was in made me even sadder, especially the last scene with him & Daniel in the gateroom - it was BEAUTIFUL & PAINFUL & IT HURT SO SO MUCH IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS.
::sniffles:: For me, Meridian was like Serenity when I saw it the second time all over again - I cried rather a lot the second time I saw it!
& ::sigh:: I still ♥ Daniel - I think maybe just a bit more than Sam, but it's only because I get Daniel the best, I think. It's funny, I see a fair amount of Sam Winchester in him, & maybe even a little River Tam - I think it's the intellegence & that slight dreaminess I can see in him. & of course, his going & pulling a Boy!River on us in one episode DIDN'T HELP AT ALL.
& lastly!
- The Asgard are MADE OF WIN. They are so cute & snuggly! ::pets Thor:: & I thought they were crazy badass in Revelations!
- Osiris (hee! not my girlfireflyfailure this time, but she's hot too!) is CRAZY HOT, FOLKS. (can I SAY this about a Goa'uld & get away with it?) It's that sexy evil chick thing that she's got going on & also, THE HOTNESS KEEPS MAKING ME FORGET OSIRIS IS A MALE DEITY. ::hangs head::
- Same goes for Hathor - DUDE, THAT IS ONESLASHTASTIC HOTASS SPACE PARASITE. I love all the episodes she's in & I give her bonus points for seducing Danieleven if she didn't rip his shirt off for all to see!! & she's a redhead. YUM! Guh. She is SEXY. I'd let her seduce me. Um yes. ::cough::
I'm pretty pleased with all of this - I wanted to get up to season five before I took a bit of a break for SGA S3 & then slowly start getting ready for SGA S4. As soon as I'm done with SGA S3 & rewatched it a few times, I'll get started on S6 of SG-1, then continue on from there. (I've got six & seven now)

Spent a couple hours with the awesomeyasolo today, which made me exceptionally happy, because we haven't seen each other in FAR TOO LONG. We didn't do much, mostly walked around my neighborhood & scraping together money for a drink, like we did when we were kids. I had a good time & hopefully we'll get to hang out MORE, now that we're back in touch!
A Dog's Breakfast is coming out on Tuesday, along with S3 of SGA! I ordered my SGA DVDs tonight & they should be here by Wednesday - I'm buying A Dog's Breakfast at Borders! I'm so very excited! (I trust all the David Hewlett fen on my flist have seen the (non-spoilery!) one minute interview with him on Amazon, right? If not, be a good David Hewlett fan & WATCH IT, dammit!)

I'm pretty pleased with all of this - I wanted to get up to season five before I took a bit of a break for SGA S3 & then slowly start getting ready for SGA S4.
