Father just left & the barbarian, as I quite frankly think of my mother now, is asleep. After ignoring me for a day & a half, she deigned to make me an early supper & have it ready when I came home. How cute. [/sarcasm]

(I really have nothing to say to her now. Nothing. I don't care if she's upset by my ignoring her either. After dishonouring me in such a savage manner, among other things, she can hop in a lake.)

& now! For a break, here are a few lovely links I gathered today & I thought some of you darlings would enjoy them!

my eight/charley mix!

(go, go see! & leave me a shiny comment, perhaps? o, please?)

space tastes like raspberries. true, in fact.

(I ♥ the things Neil Gaiman shares on his blog. & I would love a copy of Who Killed Amanda Palmer. Her album was terrific!

& because the original article was just too fascinating:

rum. raspberries. ice&mint. make up the taste of this galaxy.)

a beautiful photo set inspired by alice in wonderland & perhaps a few other faerytales!

(I want to do something like this, really. But maybe not an Alice-inspired shoot - more like a Classic!Who inspired shoot, or perhaps another faerytale of choice!)

A sample:

6. Glue an envelope into your journal. For one week collect items you find on the street. 7. Expose yourself to a new artist, (go to a gallery, or in a book.) Write about what moves you about it. 8. Find a photo of a person you do not know. Write a brief bio about them. 46. Write in your journal using a different medium (brush & ink, charcoal, old typewriter, crayons, fat markers. 54. Cut out all media for one day. Write about the effects. 55. Make pencil rubbings of six different surfaces. 64. Physically alter a page. (i.e. cut a hole, pour tea on it, burn it, fold it, etc.) 67. Record descriptions or definitions of subjects or words you are interested in, found in encyclopedias or dictionaries.

astronomy picture of the day - april 22nd

(I ♥ APOD. I like to save the pictures to my hard drive to keep them to look at later & for graphics & things. In this case, it would be for an Eight/Charley or Jamie/Victoria fic prompt! It's too beautiful & alien for me not to use.)

albums for every moment by penelope bat!

(I'm a firm, firm believer in having a soundtrack for one's life. Or more appropriately for this LJ, I'm a very firm believer in having a lot of track fives in one's life! I love her suggestions; I've only heard of a few of them! The way she described the first one reminded me of the Eighth Doctor, actually. Teehee!)

miniature teacups & teacakes to adorn your lovely necks with!

(I've already fallen in love with the pink teacup & tea kettle necklace. I dream of having fullsize teacups like that to have my tea in, but I'd settle for wearing one around my neck! Wouldn't you? & o, how I want this locket!!)

astronomy picture of the day - april 23rd

(I have it open in its full size in another tab. This one will also be a fic prompt, I do believe! It's just spectacular. O, I wish I could travel in space & see these beautiful things for myself, I really do. If I were a companion of the Doctor's, I'd probably do nothing but sit in front of the open TARDIS door & stare at the stars & constellations & planets of every galaxy we visited or passed through.)

penelope bat's weekly wishes!

I want to know what you're wishing for, teacakes.

Me?

I'm wishing for . . .

. . . my beautiful view in my father's flat in my beautiful blue room, warm spring weather perfect for going swinging in everyday, cherryblossoms floating in a gentle breeze & landing in my windblown hair, new & beautiful underthings, fruit ices, lovers in many different cities, Hello Kitty picnics in the rose gardens here in Golden Gate Park, no more capital letters for a bit, strawberry patterned dresses, running barefoot in the woods & climbing trees, Byron & Shelley to be my lovers both, more tea, & lastly, for all of you darlings to know how properly delightful you are, & to believe in more than just the ordinariness that surrounds you.

& now, an interest meme from [livejournal.com profile] vega_ofthe_lyre! (o, I do so love these kinds of memes!)

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

[livejournal.com profile] nentari's encouraged me to write a spot of Eight & Victoria gen & a bit of Jamie/Victoria. O, you know, I'm actually quite excited about the idea of writing those two things. Also, it might be nice to write something that isn't smutty & cheeky for a change. Always good to flex one's skills beyond what one is comfortable doing. Of course, the Jamie/Victoria won't come for some time, but the Eight & Victoria could come sooner. I just need to see more things with her in them!

I'm also looking about for a new layout. I want a nice spring change.

Edit: SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TELL ME TO TO CHECK [livejournal.com profile] two_love MORE OFTEN BECAUSE HOW COULD I MISS OUT ON THIS POST.

& because . . . because, I'll just transcribe it here. You know, to save you the trouble of having to wait for a page load. ::whistles::

So, the question was from one of DWM In Their Own Words specials, the '87-96' one to be precise:

How did Sylvester McCoy measure up to Patrick Troughton?

"They were two very different kinds of actor. Sylvester came from a comic tradition, I suppose... He was a very funny man, whereas Pat was a sexy one. He was a sexy Doctor. Sylvester wasn't sexy. Some people say that you've got to be sexy on TV. Sylvester had other fine qualities, but he wasn't sexy. He wasn't Pat Troughton."

-Clive Merrison (Paradise Towers, Tomb of the Cybermen)

. . . . . I AM NOT ALONE. My smile, it is huge right now.

(though I must admit, I do find Sylvester McCoy quite sexy as well - both as the Doctor & now. & his voice . . . o, don't get me started, we'll be here until morning. But you're damn right I find Patrick Troughton sexy! I did from the moment I first saw The Mind Robber & I've not changed my mind once! & I'm quite pleased to see that I'm not the only creature who does so. ::twirls::)

So . . . would it be proper to contemplate the thought that I'm not alone here either? ::big innocent eyes::

- Was on the bus yesterday morning to see my therapist & listening to Emilie Autumn, when this creepy guy started poking me in the freaking arm. & not just once, but repeatedly! I couldn't move because there was nowhere else for me to sit, so I just ignored him & moved my arm away finally. He got off several stops before me, luckily.

O MY GOD. Could creepy perverts kindly not molest fair maidens in French hats JUST BECAUSE they're sitting next to them?! Dude, you are lucky I didn't rip your fucking arm off. ::sighs::

- I've fallen back in love with Emilie Autumn's music. I'd forgotten how much I loved her when I was a bit younger. Her music is so so wonderful. Go seek her out if you haven't heard her before! ::shooes you away::

- [livejournal.com profile] galadarling wrote this article at her website iCiNG & I am seriously not kidding when I say that this has inspired me in a LOT of different ways, most notably my fashion sense: Dressing With The Essence of Faerytales. I ♥♥ [livejournal.com profile] galadarling!

- I decided that I'm going to attempt to make a fanmix for Morpheus. Yes, I may or may not have tried to do that once before & sort of veered off-track & never returned to it. Well, this time, I'm going to finish it!

- SGA TONIGHT! O yay! Rodney! John! Radek! (I hope!)

- & because I asked, Sissi ([livejournal.com profile] thisissirius) let me play the interests game!

& this is what she picked!

practicing my selective coloring - Sometimes I just whip out a random screencap, pull it into Photoshop & spend half an hour just playing at learning how to use the selective coloring function. It's fun! I can make pretty colors! (uh, sometimes. Other times it looks like mud.)

spacefae - Spacefae are generally girls (but they can be boys too, I promise! Some of you know one!) who are just the most dreamlike, abstract, crazy, fluttery little wisps of beauty that ever floated out in space. They can be insane, or sane but with their heads forever in the clouds, they can have visible wings or they can seem like they should have them, they can be the most intellegent of girls or the fiercest of warriors. But at the same time, spacefae don't even have to live in outer space -they can be physically earthbound, but they're really floating out among the stars a thousand light years away. Spacefae come in all different shapes & sizes & can be real or not. It doesn't really matter - if you think you've found one, than you probably have! We're all very different.

& sometimes we like floaty dresses, the geekiest of boys (or girls, too!) & the secret languages hiding in the back of everyone's throat when we sleep.

(& of course, I have lots more I could say about this, but I don't want to babble!)

Sammy!girls - Sammy!girls = Sam Winchester fangirls! We rock out loud, you know!

dib - Dib is HANDS DOWN my favourite character from Invader Zim. DIB FTW! ::hugs him:: & I also had a friend who used to call me Dib, so THERE. ::giggles::

dancing in the rain - I ♥ dancing outside when it's raining! It's so much more magickal & fun to do than regular old dancing.

comment parties - a comment party is basically a HUGE fucking spamfest one hosts in their journal, for any reason, ANY TIME, or for NO REASON. [livejournal.com profile] anatari has lots of them! [livejournal.com profile] lost_little_nat & I LOVE to have them at our community - they are CRAZY FUN.

fangirling my friends - Simply put? MY FRIENDS HERE & EVERYWHERE ARE MADE OF ONE HUNDRED PERCENT PURE AWESOME WIN & I FANGIRL THEM LIKE THE SHAMELESS FANBUNNY I AM. Srsly. Ask [livejournal.com profile] lost_little_nat!

Well, that's all for now, but I'll be back later tonight with more SGA squee! ::dances in a pixie dust shower with John::

Whee, friending memes are fun! ::dances & waves hello to everyone she met & friended from [livejournal.com profile] mintroses's awesome SGA friending meme:: Hello one & all, it is SO nice to meet you all! I can't wait for Friday so we can squee like freaking maniacs. ::bouncy::

Anyhow, I'm feeling a bit better, as my last post showed. Of course, my hyperhappy state was just increased by the fact that I got to see Michael Shanks in Eureka & O, MUCH PRETTY. Much, much pretty. ::nods & swoons:: & speaking of Eureka, guess who had a role in the episode before the one I was actually planning to watch? None other than Teryl Rothery! She's still so cute even though I didn't much like her hair colour in this. But who cares, it was Teryl & then I got to see Michael, so all was good in the end! & Eureka was cute, actually, even though I had no idea of what was going on overall. But there was science & SG-1 alumni in it!

& speaking of Stargate goodness, eeee, they aired like . . . three promos for it while I was watching each episode! EEEEK, WHY IS IT NOT FRIDAY TOMORROW?! I WANT TO SEE THE DAVID & AMANDA & JOE HOTNESS, THANKYOUVERYMUCH.

In other news, My odd fandom dreams are making a comeback!

 )

Ah, my crack-assed dreams, how I actually did miss you!

Today, for the first time in a long while, I bought myself something Sandman-centric, namely volume six of the series, my second favourite after Brief Lives, Fables and Reflections. I wasn't going to buy it at all, but it was just sitting in the shelf, mixed in with a bunch of DC-verse graphic novels, so I grabbed it. I ♥ Fables and Reflections for so many reasons, but mainly because it has what may be my very favourite wordstrand that Morpheus says in all ten volumes:

"I am not Apollo. I am no sun god. But poets and dreamers are my people and it is not unheard of for us to be confused."

(but then again, it's no secret that I ♥ Morpheus very much. ::giggles::)

& ironically enough, this song always made me think of him, when I was a bit younger, though now I would find a better fitting one for him.
