I came home, in an inexplicably bad mood, to find a card from

geeky_webmaster (o, thankyou bb! & I adored reading your letter! ::kisses::) & a little package that felt vaguely CD-shaped. I assumed it was The Dreamers soundtrack, which I also have on the way, but I opened it & it was the copy of the Withnail & I soundtrack that I ordered last week.

MY DAY, IT WAS MADE.

(now hopefully my book will arrive tomorrow, opleaseopleaseoplease!)

Also, I've become addicted to listening to Violet Blue's podcast open source sex. (it can be subscribed to on iTunes, which is where I get it, or found here & NO, that site is not worksafe. Just a warning!) VIOLET BLUE, MARRY ME, FOR YOU BRING THE GEEKINESS & AWESOMENESS TO THE SUBJECT OF SEXY THINGS.

One in particular also, I think, revived my interest in getting back to work on my Sarah/Romana/Eight fic. A PLUS FOR THE LADY VIOLET. Seriously, I love her.

I'm also thinking of doing two things: a) a nice, big, link-stuffed Jamie McCrimmon picspam. BB IS NOT GETTING THE LOVE HE DESERVES & WHY THE FUCK AREN'T PEOPLE WRITING MORE TWO/JAMIE PORN? (I went through eleven pages on Teaspoon & found a bit of nice smut, but THERE.SHOULD.BE.MORE.)

& b) a friending meme! Specifically, a Classic!Who friending meme. (I thought of doing an audio friending meme, but I'm not sure how that would pan out. So I'll combine them because, well, to me? One through Eight are fucking classic Doctors, people. DON'T EVEN ARGUE.) We need something to get through the year with, so we should be making new friends. ::nods::

Though does Alt!Nine count? I don't think he does, alas. So he doesn't get included. (OMG I want to see Scream of the Shalka so bloody badly.) But yes, CLASSIC!WHO FRIENDING MEME, COMING SOON TO AN LJ NEAR YOU.

lately I've been wishing for a name change. Halcyon. Firefly. Sunday. I don't know why. Elizabeth-Betsy is a perfectly good name. One's the name of a girl in skirts spending days in libraries, reading original French novels from the twenties, the other a glimmer of Lolita-flavoured sunshine sitting on a picnic blanket on warm spring days. Both very different, but very sweet girls.

I'm not sure what sort of girls Halcyon, Firefly & Sunday would be. Perhaps I just don't know.

I want to go thrifting sometime soon. I want to buy&make & redesign clothes into pretty date-outfits & awesome everyday wear. I hate most of my clothes now. I want pretty, crazy, wild, vaguely sexy clothes. a lot of my clothes are dull & somewhat uncomfortably tight. Fun when you're in highschool. not so fun when you don't gave to keep up silly little 'appearances' in your own life.

& lastly: capital letters are silly. very, very silly. I hope my lack of capitals won't bother anyone!

& do you know, I hate the lower case 'I'. I think it looks awful in anything. so I always capitalise them. but in general, Betsy does not enjoy capital letters. Except for 'I' & the 'B' in my name.

I need to start packing up all of my stuff for moving into my new room. Blaaaaaaaaaaaah, I am a lazy little miss, yes, I know. A very lazy little miss! O sigh.

& not too surprisingly, I'm having my last shopping dilemma of the year! Although I LITERALLY just solved it by looking at Amazon - I've decided that I'm going to buy myself the complete series of Stargate SG-1 as an early birthday gift next month - my birthday's in February, for those that didn't know! At the Virgin Megastore in downtown San Francisco, it was over three hundred dollars. BUT! on Amazon, it's only over a hundred dollars. I can afford that! Plus, I can also buy myself some pretty new pants & undergarments & maybe some books!

I'm vaguely excited for New Year's - my New Year's Eve will be spent with the last bottle of sparkling apple cider & the last four episodes of season ten of SG-1. I have to admit, I'm a bit excited, but after that - waaaaaaa, no more Daniel & Vala! (well, at least until The Ark of Truth & Continuum come out, anyway.)

Also for the SGA fen on my flist - have you seen this yet? Gods Rest Ye Merry Stargate Folk - a Christmas homage to SGA/Rodney!! Srsly, go watch it, it is AWESOME.

& lastly, I am definitely buying this ring for myself after Christmas - Hello Kitty with STRAWBERRIES!! Sweet Lolita!Hello Kitty! WITH STRAWBERRIES! That's the ring I saw at the Sanrio store a while back & tried on - it's beautiful & I'm definitely hoping to get it.

I mostly haven't been updating lately (with real content, that is) because every time I open Semagic to say something vaguely real-life/non-fandom related, I realise how stupid & insipid it is & talk myself out of updating or posting. But that ends tonight, because on Saturday night, I got to have dinner with my mother, brother, sister&brother-in-law & my adorable niece at The Cheesecake Factory! Seriously people, if you ever get the chance to go to one, GO. The food is amazing & one plate of something will fill you up! We didn't get any cheesecake because we were all so full, but still, BEST DINING EXPERIENCE OF EVER.

Of course, the best part of being there was the fact that we were on the top floor of Macy's here in San Francisco, so we basically had an amazing outddor view of Union Square, the St. Francis Hotel & about half of downtown San Francisco. It was breathtaking. We could see the beautiful Christmas tree & menorah in Union Square (& the people lighting it for Hanukkah!) & I could see Borders & o . . . it was amazing. When we got outside, my mouth was literally hanging open for at least ten seconds!

But OMG it was so cold out! ~~My Betsyboobies were freezing!~~

& o, my niece is just so adorable! Everywhere she went, people were oooing & aahhhing over her - & for a picture, she sat on my knees! She is, simply, the cutest little strawberrything I have ever seen. ::cuddles her:: & she even kissed Mother & I goodbye!

I did shopping with my pappy on Saturday. He was in less of a venomous, bigoted mood, so it wasn't so bad, but it wasn't that much fun either. I did however, get my new printer! I was going to pay for it myself (I'd even saved for it!), but he paid for it instead. Then we drove to a second Target so we could get one of my Christmas gifts, namely, a Hello Kitty toaster! He actually got it for me (though I can't have it until Christmas), then we stopped at See's Candy & he got me a little box of chocolate with PINK COCONUT BONBONS in them & my favourite cherry-filled chocolates & let me pick the rest. Plus, we got a soft center box for Mother & I.

He wouldn't let me buy the pink Hello Kitty hairdryer though. Pout! But I can order that on the website! & also (if I wanted to, but I don't really) the Hello Kitty popcorn maker, the Hello Kitty water dispenser, the Hello Kitty lamp, the Hello Kitty waffle maker . . .
